Walk into a library where the books are people and reading is a conversation.

Choose from a wide range of titles that reflect the astonishing diversity and behaviours of the community we live in, and don’t judge a book by its cover…

The Human Library is an international equalities movement that challenges prejudice, exclusion and discrimination through social contact. By connecting people who under normal circumstances might not have had a chance to sit down and talk, the Human Library uses conversation to break down stereotypes.

The Human Library started as an annual LGBT History Month event, in the library of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. This year, it was put on as part of The Arches Sexology Season.

intense and eye-opening, it’s beautiful to see the diversity of stories people carry with them
